Hello educators!
Jen and I have been teaching (combined) for around 34 years. We've only been working together for a year now, but we just sort of fit each others' style when we became counterparts: we have the exact same job, but we teach at two different middle schools in the same district. We are Talented and Gifted Resource Teachers. Simply put, we coach teachers with differentiation strategies and teach classes on those strategies to educators. One day, we were bouncing ideas off of each other and I said, "You know, it would have been great for me, as a new teacher, to have a tool box or tool kit of ideas I could pull from because there's just so much to assimilate." Jen, who has been an instructional coach much longer than I have, agreed and the idea was born. We were aided by Mrs. Jacci Erney, a Technology Instructional Specialist, and things fell into place. This tool kit is a simple way for a new teacher, or a teacher who is new to implementing differentiation strategies, to get ideas and learn the basics. There are definitions and resources already here. There are tools. If you need additional information, we're happy to help. Have an amazing year! We hope that you have as much fun as your students will.
Sincerely,
Jen and April
P.S. We tried to keep the site simple so, once you pick a strategy, you have access to resources, research, and technology on each page. We've also included a list of our favorite resources and a general technology page. Make sure you scroll to the bottom of each page for additional links to larger resources. We hope this helps!
